X Runtime Error

Sometimes when I open a new window in explorer version
6.0, an error box appears with the following message

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
X Runtime Error
Program: c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
abnormal program termination
(Click) OK

When we click ok the explorer window shuts down, so
basically we cannot use explorer. VERY ANNOYING
Can someone tell me why this is happening and how to stop
it.
