XP IE 6.0 Does anybody have a fix?

IE is crashing from time to time as I surf. It was
working fine three days ago. I get a blue screen box that
reads:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

abnormal program termination

Thanks.

Hi,

There are many different causes of this error. The most likely cause is a
plugin
or other addin to IE that is not functioning correctly. Gohip.com is a
common
item, but other add in programs to IE may also cause the issue.

To resolve:

1. Go into add/remove programs and remove programs that are IE related.
Some
common problem causers are gohip.com, netscape tune-up, and Common Name
Toolbar.

2. If that does not correct the problem, remove all items from the
"downloaded
program files" folder.

3. If that fails, open IE, go to "view" and then "toolbars". Determine if
there
are any non native toolbars and remove from add/remove programs if there
are.

4. Update to the newest version of IE or run a repair. Occasionally
corrupted IE
components can cause this problem.

5. Here are the details of a similar support case:

Action:

Trying to browse the internet

Sample 1:

Result:

Getting an error when opening browser "The Microsoft Visual C ++ runtime
library.

Runtime error Program C:\windows\explorer.exe abnormal Program
termination."

Cause:

It seems like a problem with the homepage set in your browser

Resolution/Recommendation:

We changed the homepage to MSN and the problem didn't come up any more

Sample 2:
ACTION: Tried to get into the Internet.

RESULT: Could not get to the Internet.

CAUSE: Spyware on the computer.

RESOLUTION: We removed the spyware, and we can now connect to the Internet.

Either of these should resolve your issue.
Hope this helps

With Regards,
Asima

Runtime Library Microsoft Visual C++. Runtime Error Program
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe or Iexplore.exe, abnormal program termination.
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/CommonName.html

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Buffer overrun detected!
Program: C:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be
terminated.
This has been confirmed as parasites.

Runtime!
"Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\explore.exe"
The application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
It appears that I have both Java(Sun) and MS VM on the PC. After
disabling/unchecking Java(Sun) the runtime error ceased in IE6. Source:

I am having the similar failures but with C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Browser\YBrowser.exe

Is this also the result of a parasite?
