IE 6.1

I get a runtime error when opening Internet explorer.

Awindow pops up Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

abnormal program termination

OK

When I click on the OK IE just shuts down.
Has anyone seen or know how to fix this error?

Find and remove malware.

Download, update and run:
Ad-aware ... http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ (about 1.5 MB)
Spybot S&D ... http://www.safer-networking.org/ (about 3.5 MB)

I've seen a report that removing the Java Plugin (Sun) as the default for IE
(look in Contol Panel) fixed this for one user.
