Lord Turkey Cough

When you click on the desktop it should be brought to the top (show
desktop).

How can a group of idiots get to design a major piece of software so badly?

If you unlock the task bar, and select show quick launch... a show desktop
link is placed in the taskbar. clicking it will bring the desktop in focus
(on top)

Jeff

Well I would rather not have a bad solution when I could have a good one.
I already have a show desktop icon in the taskbar but it is a bad solution.
It is so logical to show the desktop by clicking on it.

Well, you must be the biggest idiot of them all.
Where and what OS have you seen your request work?

Not if all your windows are open at full-screen bucko.

Hello "Lord Turkey Cough",

Try this: press the Windows Key + D

The letter D means "D)esktop"

Everyone I've shown that key to loves it. It's surprising that so few people
know about it, but it's one of those keys you just can't live without once
you do know about it.

You can press it once to show your desktop instantly. You can press it again
to restore the windows.

Hope that helps restore your faith in Microsoft's development team. (I
happen to love XP, so I'm biased.)

Geez, some idiots just feel compelled to publicize they are boobs.
Think about your own physical desk in your office. Touch it and it
comes to the top which means your telephone, monitor, papers, pens,
and everything else that was atop the desk is now buried under the
desk. Yeah, sure, that sure makes a usable working environment.

A boob that is so engrained on using only the mouse that he can't
manage to hit Win+M or click on the Show Desktop shortcut in the
QuickLaunch toolbar. Wonder how he managed to type in his post. Must
have an onscreen character map that he clicks on with his mouse.

He sure got his moniker correct. He is definitely a turkey.

Yes that is true, but i don't like to do that because it means
it is harder to swich windows - bucko.

Anyway you are flogging dead horse if you think a logically bad design is
good.

Yes thats thats a nice feature but it means I have to put a hand on the
keyboard.

You must be jokin

I noticed he never offered up an OS that had that feature...sounds like a
hater to me - someone you will never please.

As you were told before, write your own Op Sys and we'll critique it.
Until you have it ready for testing, don't post back.

Hmm. Micros~1 has buckets full of experienced designers, psychologists,
focus groups, feedback evaluators, industrial and time-and-motion experts,
and more.

They know what's best for you.

Should you still disagree, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the
contrary, I'll bet Micros~1 even has a local 12-step program in which you
could enroll. Or at least one in the nearest big city.

You could probably visit www.microsoft.com and find a convenient meeting
place.
