Workgroups and File/Printer Sharing

I have a Host PC connected to a Linksys WAG354G ADSL Home Gateway and 2
clients,a PC and Laptop each with Linksys WUSB54G Network Adapters. After
several attempts I finally managed to connect to the Internet thru both
clients. I am still having 2 problems.
1. When I look in the "view workgroup computers" window it shows my
workgroup MSHome, but when I open this it is empty.
2. I am unable to share files/printers.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as networking is not my strong point.

Cheers

What happens if on the laptop you Start/Run \\NameofHost ENTER?

If that doesn't work, try \\IPaddressofHost.

If neither of the above work, check your firewalls.

On the 'host' machine - Check firewalls: XP SP2 firewall should be
configured with an
exception for file and printer sharing or disabled altogether. Third party
firewalls and security software require product specific settings or
uninstallation. You should not run both the XP and a third party firewall.

Hi Doug

Thanks very much for your help I have managed to get everything working, but
another problem has reared its ugly head, whenever I switch off and then
reboot my laptop I am unable to connect to the internet as I keep getting an
Automatically Private IP address. When I input the IP address for my laptop
and gateway manually I can then connect, but as soon as I switch off they
seem to be lost again.Any ideas?.

Thanks
