While networking my PC and Laptop I have encountered the
following problem. The PC is able to see and access the
files that are shared on the laptop; however, when I
click on View workgroup computers on the Laptop I get the
following message: "(Workgroup name) is not accessible.
You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact hte administrator of this server to
find out if you have access permissions."

I'm having the same problem and looking for the solution,
which I haven't found. On my main PC, a widows 2000
running zonealarm firewall I have all of my printers
connects. I just purchased a new xp-home machine with
nortan and followed the establish network configuration.
Now I am here.

Disable your firewalls and then set up your network. If you need to run the
firewall and you're not behind a router, then you'll have to configure your
firewall to allow access from the other computer on the network. Here's a
site that should help. http://www.practicallynetworked.com/
