network is not accessible

OS: Windows XP Home edition

I am setting up a wireless network and am unable to get
one of the machines (a laptop) to connect to the
workgroup. when I try to view the workgroup machines
from the laptop I get the following error message:

"Workgroup Name" is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use the network resource. Contact the
administrator of the server to find out if you have
access permissions....The network path was not found.

Setting up the workgroup with the network setup wizard
worked without any problems. There are currently 3
connections created on the laptop.

-LAN connection (disabled)
-1394 connection net adapter (enabled)
-Wireless network connection 2 (enabled)

The laptop has internet capability over the network. I
was able to get the laptop to share the internet
connection (cable modem). You don't have to be in a
workgroup to connect to the modem through a router. It's
proper functioning indicates to me that it is not a
hardware problem.

Also, from the desktop PC on the same wireless network,
the laptop shows up as being in the workgroup and I can
browse it's shared folder. But not vice versa. Sadly,
the laptop is unable to connect to the workgroup.

Any help would be much appreciated. THANKS!
