Home network not accessible

I have set up a home network with my Dell P4 desktop and my Dell P4 laptop.
The desktop is connected to a router by ethernet cable; the laptop is
connected wirelessly. Both machines run XP Home. Until today it had worked
without problems. Today, when I tried to access the network on my desktop,
the "My Network Places" Window was blank. When I clicked on "View Workgroup
computers" in the Explorer bar, I received the following message after an
interval: "[My network's name] is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator... The
list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available." I am logged
on to both computers as administrator.
I tried setting up the network again using the network wizard, with the same
results.
Any suggestions?

There are several possibilities here.

# Browser conflict.

If no help yet, post output from "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" here, and
we'll diagnose the problem.
