MS Home is not accessible?

Hi. I am new to networking in XP. I have a tower and a laptop connected via
a wireless router. The laptop sees the other computer but cannot access it.
The tower does not see any computers however when I go to view them I get
this error message:

Mshome is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is currently not
avaliable.

I ran the networking wizard countless times with no luck. Please help!

The problem here is probably that you are in two separate workgroups.
To check, right click on 'my computer' and click properties. Click
computer name. Click Change. Under 'workgroup' note what is written
here.

Check this on the other computer. If they are different, change one of
them so they are both the same (doesn't matter what you call the
workgroup, as long as all computers are in it).

Go to this site and review networking for XP Home in detail.

G'day Quaor,
I've been to your troubleshooting site, whixh I think is excellent, but
unfortunately, it didn't solve my problem.
The first 3 rating was NetBIOS over TCP/IP; following thru the diagnosis, I
found that the first button in NetBIOS setting was selected. For the heck of
it, I selected Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. but that didn't solve the problem
either.

The second 3 rating was Windows Firewall Blocks LAN Connection; again I
couldn't find any problems, however, "FIle and Printer Sharing " , double
click -> Edit a service has 4 addresses: TCP139, TCP445, UDP137, UDP??? - how
can I tell if one of these is my LAN (for which the IP addresses are
192.168.1.9 (PC) , ... 1.8 (NB), .... and 1.1 (Modem ) ?

A 2 rating which I thought was promising was NetBIOS node type, but going
thru ipconfig/all, none of the nodes were p-t-p type.

Any further suggections/help would be appreciated.

Xys
