My computer does not have a word processor on it, can I
download a word processor from somewhere? or do I have to
by it and install it on my computer? Any advice would be
appreciated.

There are a number of free and down loadable word processors.

Open Office: www.openoffice.org (a suite)
Abiword: www.abiword.org (a terrific program)
