Word prints scrunched double images

I am assisting a customer using Word 2003 on a Windows 2000 system. When she
prints some images she scanned on this system, the images print two or three
times and are scrunched together into the space of the original picture. This
happens on some printers but not all printers. I print to my printer and it
works fine, I print to my network printer and get the same result she has. I
turned off background printing and the issue still exists. I changed the
picture attribute from over text to inline with text and it prints fine to
the printer I was having issues with. I have her do the same process and the
problem still exists. Anyone have any idea what might be happening here?
TIA

I have a similar problem but only with certain JPEGs saved from Corel
PhotoPaint and only with my DeskJet (not my LaserJet). The only workaround
I've found is to print directly to the printer (eliminating spooling).

Thank you. This is one of many issues caused by some sort of conflict
between Word (recent versions) and HP drivers. Neither MS nor HP will take
the blame for it, and indeed it seems very difficult to figure out who is at
fault, but the users get stuck in the middle.
