Word 2007 Print setting query

In Word 2007 I want to set the printer to always print using only the black
cartridge, display a preview, and print in gray-scale.
How do I ensure that these settings will be permanent for all printing even
after a power down?
TIA

Install your printer a second time giving it a name to indicate it is black
(so if your current printer is ip4600, make the second install ipBlack).
Then go into the Printer options and set it to print BLACK only. Make it as
the Windows default printer.

Now Word will only print using the black ink unless you switch printers to
the original version. You can create a macro to switch printers to the
colour version, print and switch back to the default black version and add
it to the QAT for the odd occasions when you need full colour.
