Word General Question

C

confounded

I tried to delete a file with a strange icon. It was named;  ï€WRL3227.tmp
I got a message that the file was in use by another application or user.
Has anyone ever seen a file named like this and what is the file? I am the
only user so there were no other applications or users of the file, how did
this occur?

That's a temp (clipboard) file created by Word. For more info see:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/211632

Unless you have a specific reason to mess with them (leftover from crash,
....) you should leave the file alone. Normally, Word cleans them up when no
longer needed.
