Every WORKS word-processor I've seen has a "file/save as"
function and will save files with your choice of format,
..wps is default WORKS, but .rtf and .doc is available too.
WORKS won't create all the features that WORD does and it
won't open and run those features when opening a WORD file,
but basic formatting will be preserved.
MS does have converters for both WORKS and WORD to allow
them to read/write cross platform. There are also
differences between yearly variations, not all versions of
WORKS files can be read by all versions of WORKS [similar
happens with WORD].

| Instead of creating the document in Works, use Wordpad
instead. It
| saves as *.doc and *.rtf. From run type in "wordpad.exe"
without the
| quotes.
