It is my understanding that an audio cd does not contain track information.
There is a code on store bought cds that allows WMP to get the information
from the web. When you create your own audio cds that is not available. You
can manually type the information into the playlist. Just click on field and
type.

If you create data cds with MP3s that information will be retained.

That's not true. CDs can store track and artist information, and it's called
CD-Text. You can add the CD-Text info to the disc when you burn it, in
supported apps and drives. Very few commercial CDs contains CD-Text, whereas
ALL SACDs do. CD-Text was not part of the original redbook specifications.

"What is CD Text
Essentially CD Text is a extension of the existing audio CD standard ("Red
Book") that adds the ability to store text and graphical information like album
titles, artist names, and song titles on a music CD. This information is stored
in such a way that it doesn't interfere with the normal operation of any CD
players or CDROM drives. There is quite a bit of confusion about the standard
because there are two different parts of the CD where the data can be stored. "

Hey thanks for the reply, actually I reread my first post and its not to
clear.
I burned a bunch a music cd's to my HD and want to use WMP 10 to play the
music. So when I ripped the discs there was no information about the songs
for WMP to use to list the track titles in the Library, but I can create a
playlist andf fill in that info in there then? Sorry Iam a total nOOb when it
comes to software stuff thanks again.
