WMM closes without warning

The program was working fine until a couple days ago, when I clicked on some
transitions. As soon as I clicked the transition, the program would close
without warning. The same thing happened when I used the special effects.
However, I can use clips and music without any problems. Can someone please
help me with this?

Well if it just started a couple days ago the first thing to consider is
what, if any, programs you installed in the last couple days. Also since it
just happened a quick and easy fix may be to simply do a system restore back
to when it was working properly.
