Movie Maker closes without warning

It used to work fine. Then suddenly it gave issues.
Everytime I try to drag clips to the timeline, it closes.
I can import, watch things, the whole bunch, just not dragging clips to the
timeline.
It holds up for like 5 clips if I drag them one at the time but after that,
it closes. Without warning.
Another thing, it can't find the helpfile. Don't know if that is new or not,
i never used it.

I tried systemrestore, unchecking .ax things and other things from papajohn
website but with no effect. I have the feeling it is linked to my iTunes/iPod
problem but I am not sure. My iPod has its own will and lately it refused to
syncronize and thus made iTunes jam, and My Computer too.
In my event-log it says mutliple errors of which some seem like a big deal,
but I don't know much about it.
It's in Dutch, but it says this:
Het stuurprogramma heeft een controllerfout gevonden in \Device\Harddisk5\D.
Not sure how to translate that :p It also gives errors about WMM and iTunes.
Anyway, I use windows XP and WMM 2.1 I use clips from video's with .avi and
they used to work fine.

Hope you guys can help me :)

Are you sure you went back far enough with the System Restore?
I definitely think the two problems are probably related somehow but it
sounds like you have quite a few different problems to deal with.

You could try uninstalling iTunes & the iPod driver software and
reinstalling it but I would also reinstall SP2.
Do these things in a specific order to hopefully fix the issues.
Uninstall iTunes & the iPod software.
Reboot the computer
You could then uninstall SP2 and use Microsoft Update to reinstall it or
download and install it over itself from this link:

Reboot after the install, I don't think you have a choice anyway, and try
Movie Maker to see if it is working properly.
If it is then you can reinstall iTunes and the iPod drivers, reboot again,
and try Movie Maker again.
