Windows Movie Maker 2.1

I successfully captured an hour long analogue tape using WMM 2.1 with multi
clips being made. However when dragging selected clips onto the
time/storyline, after placing approximately 5 minutes worth wmm cuts out and
back to my desk top.

I have tried many combinations of clip but wmm always fails at the same
point. Nonotices/captions are displayed. Can anyone help please??
