wireless problem

I have AT&T DSL.My Motorola modem is connected to a Netgear router that also
has wireless built in. I have 2 Dell desktops hooked to the router using
Ethernet cables and a laptop PC that has wireless access. My problem is that
when my home phone rings and is answered it drops the internet connection on
the laptop PC and sometimes the internet will automatically come right back
up and at other times I will have to re-boot the internet up. I do not have
a problem with the desktop PC's. At&t put a whole house filter on the out
side phone box that is on the house and there is still a problem. Do any of
you have a suggestion as to how I can't get this fixed?
Thank you very much for your help.

Hmmm this is very strange...

can you try connecting a different telephone?

disconnect all telephones and leave only one...

if you have a wireless telephone try a simple telephone vise vesus

there are also filters that you put on the cable that leads to the telephone
itself.. do you have those?

please post back with results of the above...

Assuming your phone is wireless, it is probably also 2.4ghz -- same as your
network. Easy solution is to change the phone out to one that is 5.8 or
6.0ghz. Widely available.

Or just change the channel the router is using. Use 1, 6 , or 11 -
something different than the default on the router.

Thank you very much for your replies. Bob I did what you said and still had
the problem and it became intermittent.
Rak you were right my wireless phone was 2.4 GHz. I disconnected it and CASE
