What does the rest of the wireless network consist of?
It looks like you have installed a USB external wireless adapter.

Right. it is a usb external adapter. There is a Berklin wireless router
connected to my cable modem on the main computer. there is also a laptop that
uses the wireless network. i have no problems with the laptop or the main pc.

Have you check the wireless router settings? You could have the MAC address filter set to refuse to
talk to the new MAC address.

You have manually entered the IP address for this wireless adapter. Now you
may have to manually enter the Primary and Secondary DNS server IP addresses.
If you type the web url www.microosft.com, you need to be able to locate the
IP address for this web site. Since the IP address was manually entered, the
wireless adapter will not pick up ant DNS server IPs which will translate the
url to an IP address.
