my laptop keeps dropping my network.
It keeps showing me a bunch of networks around me, most secured, some
unsecured. I've had to change the settings on my laptop for the unsecured
ones to make them incompatible {i figured since I don't want to use them, I
could just change a setting with no harm} so that it doesn't keep trying to
pick them up when it drops my own. That's solved, but I still can't get it to
hold my own signal.
It doesn't appear to be a problem with my dlink wireless router, I've
uninstalled and reinstalled it and called the help desk. It also works just
fine with my old laptop {windows xp} and never drops the signal.
I'm not knowledgeable enough to figure out if any settings need to be
changed and to what and I tried checking a link given to another poster, but
all the 'shared', 'open authentification' stuff freaked me out a little.
Can someone give me a suggestion or tell me exactly what I need to program
to get it to work and be secured?
