Removing wireless networks

I want to remove an available wireless network. I had originally intalled a
router on my desktop as having a secured signal, but my laptop will only
accept it as unsecured as I had done in a previous residence. But now that
my laptop has recognized the network as secured it won't recognize it as
unsecured. How do I delete my secured network so I can replace it as
unsecured?

did you ever change the SSID to something other than the default it
came with? sounds like the best thing to do is to go in and change
the SSID name to something new.
