Winxp pro

I have installed winxp pro onto a new Serial ata hard
drive, I got on the net downloaded all the patches and
installed the service packs etc, the system was working
fine.

After restarting the system it now loads the normal way
but when it changes to the user name it crashes and
restarts and this just keeps on doing it, I have tryed to
reinstall it but again crashes or freezes when doing it.

Any ideas on how to clean the disk and start again or how
to fix it ?

Try booting into safe mode (hit f8 on boot) and do a system restore to the
most recent Restore Point.

Have just done it in safe mode and it goes through the
loading bit showing the files that are loading but
restarts when it shows mup.sys

what ever option you try it crashes and restarts
