slipstreamed WinXP SP3 disk fails to install

Have made slipstreamed versions of a WinXP pro SP3 boot CD. 3 attepts from
instructions on this forum and on other on the web.
When trying to use them to repair my current XP SP3 installation the
installation allways get stuck. It says 34 min left and then restarts. It
continues with 39 min left down to 34 min and then a new restart, 39 min left
, and so on. No progress from 34 min. It also occasionaly warns for non
Microsoft approved software for installation?? the disk only contains
MS-code!! Have answered both yes or no but the result is the same.
Finally I have to breake the installation and recover the OS from a
previously saved image with Acronis True Image.

Have anyone a hint of how to get a functional WinXP pro SP3 boot CD from my
SP 2 CD ( OEM version). Microsoft does not provide SP3 disks.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's not out of the question that your OEM CD has some changes in it
made by the maker of the PC but otherwise, have you tried to use NLite
to make a slipstream CD? See if that works and report back here.

Thanks for your answer Mark
Maybe I was not enough clear.
My goal was not to get an add on SP3 disk for upgrading to SP3.
I have already used the file you mentioned to make a slipstream with my
original SP2 disk resulting in a fully installable SP3 WinXP SP3 boot disk.
But this disk is not OK and gets stuck in repairing my curremt ("worn out")
SP3 PC installation as described.
So my question is if anyone have an idea of how to solve this or how to get
a functioning fully installable WinXp pro SP3 disk on my current licence (an
OEM ,Swedish version)

Since your slipstream disk doesn't work, recover the machine from the
Acronis image. Use the following instructions to perform a "clean boot":

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

Once in clean boot state, go to Add/Remove programs in Control Panel and
uninstall SP3. If you have installed IE7 and/or IE8 you will need to remove
them as well. Once back to SP2, use your OEM install disk to perform the
repair. If the repair still doesn't work, you may have malware. Scan your
system with Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware.

Come to think of it, this may be where your slipstream problem is. You will
probably need to slipstream IE7 or IE8 in addition to SP3.
