WinXP and Win98 Dual Boot.

Jeff

I know the proper way to make a dual boot between WinXP
and Win98 is to install 98 into one partition then install
XP into another partition and configure the dual boot
features from XP. But my client has a PC with one
partition with XP already installed and he would like 98
installed as a dual boot for some old software he would
like to use. Is there a way to do this without starting
the PC from scratch??
Thanks!

Greetings --

It's possible, provided that the primary active partition (the C:
drive, in simple terms) is formatted in the FAT32 file system. MS-MVP
Doug Knox has kindly provided clear instructions:

Install Windows 98 after XP is Installed.

Unless the hard drive is using fat32, they will need to purchase
partitioning software and use a bootmanager.
