WinMediaPlayer10 locked

Downloaded "update" for WinMedPlayer9 which upgraded it to version 10. Now it
no longer plays and I cannot remove it. It says I'm not a the user...I'm on a
standalone and I'm the only user on a WinXPpro+SP1. I need to remove 10, I do
not want it on my machine ever again
