Windows XP VPN Server Problem (Error 721)

I am having a problem setting up a simple Windows XP VPN connection. I
have a Windows XP Pro box which is set up to receive incoming
connections. On the outside I have several different computers from 98
to XP all which give the Error 721 when trying to Verify Username and
password. I have confirmed that the router is configured properly
since when I close the ports it is currently forwarding to I cannot
connect at all. I also know this is a server problem since I have the
VPN set up on another machine and I can connect just fine. I have to
be missing just some stupid detail. Please help me, I am ready to pull
my hair out! Thanks to you all.....

my problem is just like yours except its windows 2000, the error 721
is the same and i have done all those things you mentioned. I too
would like to get some help on this. thanks

Disable your quick change for users or the Quick change
for login in and out in preferences

Tell us more about the router and how it is configured?

You need to be permitting port 1723, TCP and GRE protocol 47 through.

Tell us about your router and the settings that permit these two different
protocols through?
