Windows XP upgrade

I have not posted any updates to my computer since I
bought it in 2002. I have 54 critical updates to post,
and it says that there is a necessary fix before posting
others. Any suggestions about how I should go about the
posting of the 54 updates. Should I do them one at a
time or allow the system to post all, other than the
necessary.

Hi,

Do not attempt to select all the updates at a time. There will be some updates like Direct X 9.0b which will need to be installed seperately.

And select say 5 or 7 updates at a time and then install them and do boot when prompted to do so. do not ignore this step. It will be lengthly but it surely does the task.
