Windows XP Startup problem

This is starting to get frustrating. Every time I boot up
the process stops with a screen stating that I have to
press enter to go back to the original configuration.
Where do I start? I sure could use some advice.

"Original configuration" is not a term used by Windows. If multiple
hardware profiles are used, this might be the name that someone assigned to
one of those. What exactly is the message? Can you tell from the text on
the screen what exactly is requesting the described actions? The system
itself or Windows?
