every time i load this game an error comes up
'The graphics adapter in this system experienced an internal error.'
and then the sceen gets distorted and freezes up what do i do?

No, I'm saying if a non-WHQL graphics driver is installed, then DirectX 9.0c
(as supplied on the CD version) may object to that graphics driver and not
install, throwing up an error message.

Go to Microsoft Download Centre, download DirectX 9.0c, do'nt use the DirectX 9.0c from CD-ROM.

Hi guys, I have just bought my daughter Sims 2 for Xmas I have tried
installing the directx 9.0c form the Sims CD and also downloaded directx from
microsoft to my computer it still gives the message that we do not have
directx 9.0c graphic adaptor any more ideas!

It is telling you that your Video Card (or onboard video) is not DX9C
compatible.
