Windows XP Pro Startup problem

hi i recently had windows xp professional installed on my computer. it all worked fine for a day or so but now when i start my computer it boots from the floppy drive ok then after that when the windows xp prompt is supposed to come showing u that it is loading i just get a black screen and no activity from my harddrive. i have to reset and keep resetin until it finally loads up it is becoming frustrating and help would be aprricaited
the only programs i have added to it are winamp, winmx, download accelerator plus, nero burning rom, my printer and my digital camera drivers.

Why are you booting from a floppy?

WinMX is gonna cause you pain and suffering. Don't use it. DL accel is
crap. Don't use it. I'm serious. They cause more problems than they are
worth.

Next time you get booted into XP, clean up the Startup routine. Boot
clean.
