I've got windows xp on a computer that doesnt boot. I'm
trying to boot from the windows XP disk and i'm having a
problem...

It's freezing (or just not progressing) once it says "Setup
is starting windows" ... what's going on?
I've tried everything from cleaning the cd to using either
of the two cd drives, all with the same results.

Can anyone help me?

Hi,

Does it freeze before or after copying the files for installation? If
before, then you may have a hard drive failing. Test it by downloading and
running a diagnostic from the drive manufacturer. These are commonly
available for free and run from a bootable floppy. They will tell you the
state of the drive, and whether or not it needs to be replaced. If it's
after the file copy, you may need to disable any bios-level antivirus
detection schemes.
