have made sure everything has been enabled and downloaded
software from SUn Jave webpage?

First of all, open a command prompt and type "jview" (without the quotes).
This will determine if you have the MS JVM. If you do, then you have Java
and your problem lies elsewhere.

If you don't (or even if you do), you can install the Sun JVM.

You wrote that you downloaded the executable from Sun, but did you run it?

You have to run it to make it install!

After you install it, you'll see an applet in your Control Panel. Click it
open to get the Sun JVM Control Panel. Check all the settings (especially
the browser and proxies) and make sure they are OK.

Have you included downloading the Sun Java machine?
http://java.sun.com/getjava/download.html

If so there should be a Java item in the Control Panel, and if on the
Browser page you check off the Internet Explorer box, it will come into
use with IE - but not until you have done that

*Or* you can still get a download of the MS Engine (Virtual Machine),
which they are no longer allowed to supply:
eg 3805 from Http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/msjavx86.exe

Once you have such an older version you can get the 816093 'critical
security update' which is effectively a complete build, 3810
