uninstalliong old Sun Java versions

Running Secunia PSI (RC4) on my XP SP3 system (to detect old unpatched
programs) I discovered that I apparently have several old 1.5 and earlier
1.6 versions of Sun Java JRE installed.
It detects as installed:
Sun Java JRE 1.5.x 5.0.50.5
Sun Java JRE 1.6.x 6.0.40.12
Sun Java JRE 1.6.x 6.0.0.105
Sun Java JRE 1.6.x 6.0.40.12 (again)

However, when - as recomended - I go to "Add or Remove Programs", only 2
entries are listed:
Java(TM) 6 Update 4
Java(TM) SE Runtime Wnvironment 6

How do I uninstall them Java JRE 1.5, etc. and remove them from the system?

Thanks.

Jeff

Sorry for being obtuse but just to be clear and avoid my screwing up:
1. Do I uninstall BOTHin "Add/Remove programs"? They are the only 2 listed in "Add/Remove
programs".

2. Then I download "Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 10" from that
URL and install it?

Thank you for helping. I appreciate it.

Try JavaRa

Do you choose the standard scan or the more extensive/full scan.
Sometimes that scanner will locate installers or other components
of applications that aren't truly installed on the machine. You have
to pay close attention to the path of the detected items in the list.

Try:
JavaRa at http://raproducts.org/
It's a neat little free utility that removes all remnants of Java. I used
it and it worked easy. Just unzip it and run it.

Does JavaRa remove *all* old versions of Java or only the ones in the
"standard" locations? Some apps, for example some hp printer installs, have
their own installation of Java, usually in some obscure subdirectory. I've
hesitated to remove these Javas, even though they are quite old, on the
assumption that if the app put Java in its own special directory, it may
expect to find it there rather than where Sun installs it.

Java does not remove old version which is why you get Java Clutter and
multiple versions. At least when a newer version is installed it paths
to the current version. Sun has to really improve this major issue.

You didn't understand the question.

I know that Sun doesn't install previous versions when a newer version of
Java is installed.

But Sun typically installs Java in someplace like C:\Program
Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07. I assume that JavaRa finds all the old installis in
C:\Program Files\Java and uninstalls them.

However, some apps install Java in their own special place, such as
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Toolbox2.0\Javasoft\JRE\1.3.1\

My question was does JavaRa uninstall these as well? I don't think that
would be a good idea for the reason stated earlier.

Ah, I was not referring to JavaRA as I think it's a unneccesary
program and didn't realize you were referring back to it. As far as I
can tell it won't remove Java from locations not common to the one
made by Sun which usually resides in C:\Program Files\Java although I
cannot verify this as I have no program that installs it's own Java.
It's been well over 6 years since I've heard of any app bundling Java
and putting it in it's own specific location though.

Starting with 6.10, Java will now remove prior versions, so the newly
released 6.11 will remove 6.10 but nothing older.
