i have a laptop with this on it, i forgot the password for the opening page
is there anyway to change it?

At starting computer,tap the F8 key,select safe mode,enter xp as
administrator,
open users,change password.

Simply log in using the built-in Administrator account (which
cannot be deleted) and modify the desired account(s). By design, the
only way to log into the Administrator account of WinXP Home is to
reboot into Safe Mode. For WinXP Pro, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL twice at
the Welcome Screen will produce the standard login dialog box.

You can really also use password changer tool. IT works great and
quickly, and helped me before. It can reset forgotten password, and
indeed it never failed.
