Windows XP firewall

I have been trying to find where to turn the Windows XP
Home Edition firewall on or off. I have followed the
directions: Network connections, click on my Local Area
Connection, click on changes setting for this connection,
but there is no advanced tab to click so I can toggle the
firewall on or off. I have check all 3 of my computers,
two desktops and one laptop, which are networked together
and none of them have the advanced tab setting. What am I
missing here?

The Internal network connection does NOT have the firewall function.
It's the one that is EXTERNAL - to the Internet.

I think this guy knows that, but has probably sharing out a cable/dsl
internet connection and would like to be able to turn on the firewall on all
the machines.

well I don't think you CAN with the built-in XP Firewall. My network
connections don't have that function, although my Internet connection
does. I think a third-party firewall would have to be the answer - but
then you'd have to enable the network IP addresses anyway, so what's the
point?

Right click on "My Network Places",select properties, right click on "local
area connection", select properties, click on Advanced tab, put a checkmark
in the box by "Protect my computer and network....., click OK

Umm no, if you right-click on "Local Area Connection" and select
"Properties" there is NO "Advanced" tab.
