windows XP firewall

I tried to enable the firewall in Windows XP. After I went through the whole procedure and came in the "Advanced" window it told me the following: Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) information might be corrupted. Try System Restore to correct problem.
I could not restore the system. Can anybody help?
