xp firewall - cannot enable

i cannot enable xp firewall because when i go into
advanced to switch it on it says that my "windows
management instrumentation might be corrupted. How do I
fix this?

Sir,
the firewall built into windows xp is of poor quality at best, and offers very little protection. I would suggest purchasing a commercial firewall like zonealarm, or black ice defender
