Windows XP - fax

Is it possible to receive a fax through the computer
after answering the phone (and hearing a fax coming
through?)

No and yes.

Hang up. Set the computer to pick up the line when it rings. Phone the
source location and request a send. Let the phax pick up the line.

Other than that, I know of no way you can have the computer fax card
successfully pick up once the source has started the negotiation process.

Am I wrong? Corrections welcome. Anyone?
 
Honestly I found (back when my fax WAS working)If i had
already answered the phone I could simply click on the
fax montior window to answer now. hang up the phone and
the fax would be received. mind you is alot easier if you
have a distinctive ring then you know when to not pick
the phone up. Hint to microsoft make xp fax compatible
with distinctive ring tones.....
