Windows XP Explorer Does Not Execute

The only way I can run Windows Explorer to manage my files is in Safe Mode.
I've tried all the ways I know to execute the program. I get an hour glass
for a few seconds and then nothing. I ran Ad-aware SE and Spy Sweeper in
Safe Mode and cleaned out lots of stuff including CoolWebSearch. Also
cleaned out all Temp folders. Still couldn't get Explorer to run in regular
mode. I have Norton AV doing a full system scan while I'm at work. I'm
using a networked Tohiba laptop running XP Home with SP2. I first noticed
the problem after importing QIF files into Quicken 2001 that I had downloaded
to my desktop from my credit union. Any ideas?
