Windows XP computer keeps shutting down

My emachine running windows XP keeps shutting down. The fan still runs, the
CPU activity light stays lit, but everything else is shut down. I have
checked for viruses, worms, and spyware and it comes back clean. I opened
the tower and the CPU fan was very clogged with dust. Could this be an
overheating issue. I cleaned the inside out very well and it seems to be
doing ok for now. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Hi

Have a look in the Event Viewer for any 'Errors'. If any are found, could
you please post the Event ID and Source? If there are no errors, then the
problem is probably hardware related - possibly overheating.
