Windows XP backup crashes when using an Olympus USB READER/WRITER MAUSB-10

If you use an Olympus USB READER/WRITER MAUSB-10 and you
attempt to use the backup program that comes with Windows
XP, you'll get a black screen and reboot, automatically
or it will blue screen and do a dump. After analyzing
it, it appears that when the backup software is looking
for media, the Olympus card reader is interfering and
crashes the system. I got an updated driver from the
Olympus people and it still crashed XP! If you plan to
use Olympus' new XD card reader, don't plan on using your
backup software built into XP because it will NEVER work!

I have a similar problem using Windows 2000 Pro. The difference is
that the MAUSB-10 software is conflicting with a SCSI hard drive
installed into my system. As long as the driver is installed whenever
I access the Hard drive I get a message indicating the drive is not
available and "error performing inpage operation". Removing the
driver eliminates the problem.

I have also downloaded the latest driver for the MAUSB-10 with the
same results. If anyone has a cure for this please advise.

Thanks
