Printer with Olympus xD Picture Card Reader

Well have now got a slight problem looking at a new printer!
It needs to be a printer/scanner all in one that allows standalone printing when pc is off and if possible have a card reader that will read an Olympus xD-Picture Card. Or we buy a printer/scanner with standalone printing & then a usb card reader?? Oh and my parents want to buy it from a retail shop ie; on the high street, currys, dixons or comet etc, etc.

So is their a printer out their that can do all this for my parents??????

Oh and pcworld, curry's & dixons site are down at moment:(

Found one made by Epson, the Epson DX4800 Inkjet All-in-one @ £90.
Are Epson any good, any good, bad or ugly points to look at??

Current printer has well & truly gone:(

You'll have to tell us ...

For the price it looks good, don't expect it to produce photos in line with a Photo Printer though.

Epson have been going since before computers, in their day the market emulated Epson's in that you could set-up your printer to act as an Epson. HP were # 1 :p

As with all market leaders, they rise and they fall ... Epson are on another rise.

Best of all, you can get cheap cheap inks for 'em. :thumb:

Cheers for that Muckshifter:thumb: Off to buy it tomorrow morning then:D

Sadly the Canon i550 seems to have gone to the big printer grave yard, did try to mend the rollers and sort out the paper feed, but the printer is all plastic & not easy to take apart with out damaging it to much:(
