Windows XP and Proxy Client 2.0

I am able to install the Proxy Client on a Windows XP pc,
but when i go to Control Panel and click on the client
icon and then click update the program hangs and i
recieved the an Event id: 1002 in the Application log.
The error:
Source: Application Hang
Category: (101)
Event id: 1002
Description: Hanging application rundll32.exe, version
5.1.2600.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang
addrss 0x00000000

If you have any suggestion,Please help.

Load Ad-aware and remove all that it finds.
