Application Hang with Excel

Please help!! Whenever I use Excel, it hangs- it will either freeze when
trying to OPEN an existing spreadsheet, or sometimes the file will open and
when I try to SAVE modifications it will freeze and all my edits are lost.
This only happens with Excel- no other office programs. Each time this
happens, the event log has 2 errors:

I have run and rerun all virus protection and spyware programs with no
success. I also used the Detect and Repair on Excel with no luck.
I am so frustrated. . does anyone have any suggestions as to how to repair?

Thank You.

Hi Bennett Marco,

have you tried registering excel again. if not, follow the undernoted
procedure :

Close Excel and
Windows Start Button|Run – “excel /unregserver “
then Windows Start Button|Run – “excel /regserver “

The /unregserver & /regserver stuff resets some of the windows registry to
excel's factory defaults.

click yes below, if it helps

I'm having this issue as well. Did the above fix work for anyone?

Unless you post the full text of the original question, nobody knows what
you're talking about. Futhermore, since this is an Excel question,
cross-posting it into WindowsXP.general is probably not appropriate.

It was, and I quote

Under the world wide web , I can`t see the "above fix " .
