Windows wont load

Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated. Something serious is
wrong with my laptop, I have tried to boot with the XP CD and its worked 1
out of 6 times. WHen it loads it says new hardware updated ACI Uniprocessor
PC. IT moves so slow I went to task manager and it said 73 processes running
and 100% CPU usage, the laptop would get very hot and freeze up. Thats only
the couple of times I was able to get it to boot. The other times it would
flash onto windows and then the screen would go blank. In reading on
microsoft.com I thought it might have been Norton GoBack so one of the times
it loaded I disabled that, whic might have made the problem worse.I have
recieved numerous error messages on a blue screen or a black one..A couple
are Fatal System ErrorCZ0000/142 and fatal system error C000021a and another
message that said bios not fully acpi compliant. The worse part about it is I
made the biggest mistake of putting over 4376 family photos on this computer
without backing it up...If there is anything anyone can do you dont know how
appreciative I would be. Thanks,Aimee

If the Laptop gets very hot you might check that the vents are clear/clean

If you have the expertise I think I would remove the laptop drive, place it
in an external usb enclosure, attach to another PC and recover/save data to
that PC, before I tried to correct the Laptop problem.
