Windows won't install.

Hi, I have a problem in when I try to install Windows XP on a brand new hard
drive, it proceeds to boot from the CD drive, it then reformats the hard
drive and installs system files. However, after that, the process is usually
that the computer restarts and then installation proceeds. In my case, the
above process is repeated, as in it boots from the CD and asks if I would
like to install Windows or repair it instead continuing with the
installation.

You may want to make sure that all power management like ACPI in the bios is
turned off to see if that will allow it ot go through the rest of the
install. Also make sure you are not overclocking your CPU as that can cause
issues with Windows installing properly.

When you first boot with the CD in the drive it should suggest to "Press any
key to boot from the CD". Once you do this you then format then choose to
install. It will reboot the system and the same message Press any key to
boot from the CD" will come up again except this time you DO NOT press any
keys, just let it time out and the install should proceed.

If it's asking to Repair as you now say, start all over with the format then
install.

When the PC starts to reboot, remove the CD.
