We are using a Dell Latitude laptop with win2000. After
applying the latest patches and service packs windows will
not shutdown. It stops with a blue screen and the mouse
pointer visable and still movable. I even let it sit all
night. Any thoughts on how to fix?

OK I tried that, but it still did the same thing. Windows
goes through all the regular shut down process, but when
the little box goes away that says windows is shutting
down, I'm left with a blue screen and the mouse pointer. I
can move the pointer and last night I checked the keyboard
and the caps lock works as well as the num lock. All very
strange.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem. I am
experiencing the same problem. I will shutdown windows
2000 pro and it will say "saving settings" and "windows is
shuting down". Then it just hangs at a blue screen. And
all the lights on the keyboard will turn off and on.

Thanks
James
