Windows Update - Error installing MS03-026

After unsuccessfully trying to use the Microsoft Windows
Update URL, I successfully used www.microsoft.com to
download the patch for the MS Blaster worm referenced in
MS03-026 but cannot install. Running the .exe gives the
message "Setup cannot not verify the integrity of the
file Update.inf." Tried unsuccessfully the recommended
fixes by MS, such as stopping crypto service and deleting
a folder. Although previously infected, I cleared the
MSBLASTER worm, activated the WinXP firewall and have not
had a recurrence of the worm symptoms. How do I fix
WinXP to enable the capability to install future
Microsoft patches? Thanks for any help.

How To Fix The Cryptographic Service Error

Are YOU getting the following error when you try to install Windows XP
Service Pack 1?
"Service Pack 1 Setup Error:
Setup could not verify the integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the
Cryptographic service is running on this computer"
Or
YOU are trying to install the Windows XP security patch 823980 - in
response to the msblast.exe worm and you are getting a similar error
message.

I'm also getting this error, checked for the instructions
in the address listed below, however there is no page
there. Any suggestions? Thanks!
