Windows Taskbar problem

I run Windows XP SP2. After a reboot i did, my taskbar has disappeared. After several reboots it still does so. I have tried to terminate explorer.exe and reload it with no results. I also tried reinstalling the windows (without formating) but the problem still remains. When windows start, the taskbar is obvious for several seconds but then it vanishes.

What can I do?

Right-click the Start button, and then click Properties

On the Taskbar tab, tick/un-tick the Auto-hide the taskbar check box.
